A modern home requires an efficient boiler and central heating system to provide on-demand hot water and warmth throughout the household. With a wide variety of boilers and heating products to choose from, a heating system can be as individual as the home it is in and the household’s usage requirements.
Our expert Gas Safe Registered heating engineers are here to help you achieve a central heating system that efficiently heats your home and hot water to match your usage requirements. They will gladly make an assessment of your home and provide recommendations and quotations based on your requirements.
Configuring Your Central Heating System
Fundamentally, to determine the right boiler and central heating system setup for you and your home, there are three main factors to consider:
First, we need to consider the size, layout and type of your home you live in, considering how many floors and rooms there are and how many radiators will be required to heat it efficiently. If there are larger rooms or a conservatory, these may require additional radiators to keep them warm. You will also need to consider heating for your entrance lobby, stairs and hallways. In your kitchen, bathrooms, toilets, ensuites and utility room you will also need to consider your hot water supply.
Once we understand the scale of the system required for your home, we need to consider the usage requirements of your household, so we can choose a boiler and design a central heating system to service your needs efficiently. The key considerations here are; how many people live in the property, how much hot water you will be using, as well as how and when you use it on a day to day basis. Do you have peak times when there are several people needing to have hot water for a shower at the same time? This kind of usage can affect the water supply and dictate the type of boiler and heating system that is required.
With a clear understanding of your daily usage requirements, we can then determine which type and model of boiler system will work most effectively with your heating system and whether there are any additional requirements such as smart thermostats and hot water cylinders needed to improve its efficiency and make sure there is an ample amount of hot water and warmth throughout your home when you need it.
Planning your central heating system
Having looked at the three key factors, our heating engineer will then be able to discuss and plan your new central heating system with you. In doing so they will be able to talk you through the key components that need to be considered and help you decide what is most practical, efficient and affordable for your home.
